1983 1100A Air Ride Suspension

Postby jhbates2000 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 5:59 am

I am wondering is there a physical air bag in the front forks on an 83 1100 aspencade? I ask because when I try and air mine up they hold air for a few minutes and then they slowly go down. Is this do to the seals not being seated like they should? Ok my next question is...is it possible for the front seal to still be in good shape and become dilodged somehow over time and use? Any help on this would be a great help.

1) No air bag in the forks
2) Yup - seals are leaking.

There are (on here) good how-to's on rebuilding forks; check 'em out! Since you are going to rebuild them anyway, consider installing Progressive springs - I know of NO ONE who has bad things to say about them after installing them....
