Funny you should ask....I think that's what I put on my 83....It was a take off from one of the HD guys here...I noticed it had a thicker sidewall but the rim, height and width were the same...
I didn't mind at all that it had Harley Davidson embossed in the side either....
Just double check the numbers ....140 is the tire width in mm.90 is the % of height or profile compared to the width and 16 is the rim size.

That is a 140/85-16 tire in bias ply, load rated to 908 pounds and speed rated to max 130 mph. It would probably be just a little smaller in diameter than a 140/90 due to the sidewall being 119mm rather than the 126mm found on the 90 series tire. It would make your speedometer read higher than the speed you were travelling. No reason NOT to use it. It is a good load rated speed rated tire.

He is changing the rear tyre, why will that effect the speedo? I thought the speedo was driven from the front wheel?

That's a fact...it might increase the rpm's very slightly for the same speed..I didn't notice or care.

Absolutely I do care...bunches and bunches...lots and lots...Just not so much about tires, other than safety

OK...clarification....yes the spedo is connected to the ...front wheel...(remind you of a song.??)
Changing the size of the rear wheel will not affect how the speedometer shows the speed of the bike..assuming it's accurate in the first place...and mine never were....

And no...i really didn't care the least if my bike had to run 50 rpm higher than before for the same speed because the rear tire was a bit smaller around it.

I just wanna ride with something other than Indian tread.... You know....A Hindu monk's foot print on rice paper.

Oh..one other thing...use balancing beads(2 oz.) instead of the lead weight method....More better, less worser....

If you're using a tire designed to fit a Harley on a Goldwing, are you supposed to install some of those leather tassles on the handlebars too?

Yup - you got me there    I let my pondering get the best of me. Gary and Virgil are the correct ones. And Virgil admitted he cares, so Gary is happy.

My wife wanted the tassels.I pu pu the idea.
I didn't want my wing to look like a girls Schwin bicycle.
Next thing she would want is a basket up front.
Besides, those things sting my arms when they whip around.
