Front master cylinder

Postby JDMAG » Fri Sep 06, 2013 3:45 pm

Ok.... In the 1100DIY on the rebuild your front master cylinder articles, step #7 says to remove the lever pivot pin. does this screw out, or push out? mine will not move. I broke the tip of a screw driver off trying to turn it, and I don't want to tap the other end too hard because of fear of damaging it. right now it is resting with PB Blaster soaking in. Any suggestions? :?

There is a 10mm lock nut on the bottom. It is used as a jam nut to keep the pivot from inadvertently unscrewing while you are riding. You need to remove that nut first, then remove the pivot screw.
