83 Caliper question?

Postby The Wolf » Sun Sep 15, 2013 8:06 am

k&L have a caliper rebuild kit and there is a rubber part that comes with it that I'm not sure what to do with.. It about 1 in long with a closed end like maybe its for one of the caliper pins but seems too small. confused any help? I still have it and brakes are working fine without it..
thanks

Depending on where you put your punctuation  , if your home-still is that big, what about sending me a dozen bottles? so that we can all retire next year, and not feel any pain for quite a while

I'm betting the part you have in your kit is this. This is from the K@L 32-1446 kit, and to my knowledge will not fit either of the front calipers on the 83 1100. It *might* fit the rear, but I'm not sure. I got two of these kits when I ordered from Iron Pony, they assured me they were correct. Sadly, they are not.

Well that's the part in question. Glad I'm not crazy! I'll keep it and maybe find a use for it somewhere!
thx!
