I have fitted the seals from a 1980 CX500 - identical in every way - on my 1983 GL1100AD
The only silly question is the one you don`t ask. Everything else is game.

ok just to ad to this question
I have an 81 gl1100 and want to do the valve guides and seals and timing belt, I went to the web site for valve seals that steveB123 put on here but it does not say how many are in the order do I have to order 1 or 8. and do I get guides from the same place?
thanks
P.S. as you will see I have a lot to learn about working on my first Gold wing and even more about getting things from the internet.

Check out Bikebandit.com, type in your bike and year and it will bring up a schematic of your choice - which will show in detail all the parts, and quanity needed of each. Quite handy, actually. Regards, Johnyy
