Used mufflers

Postby aznyaz » Fri Oct 25, 2013 11:52 am

Looking to purchase a used original muffler set from a 1980 Interstate and the number, HM463 is referenced. I'm wondering if these will fit my '81 Interstate. The parts manual indicates that these are interchangeable from the '80 through '83 models, and the number HM463 shows up as well in the manual. Just looking to verify.

Also, I have Hondaline saddlebags and was wondering if there are any clearance issues with stock mufflers. It does not appear to be a problem since the pipes that were on the bike when I bought it (Mac or Jardine, not sure) have a steeper angle off the header pipe than the stock, original mufflers have, and they fit under the saddlebags without interference. Once again, just looking to verify.

Thanks.

MJ

Thanks, and yes, I would like to see them. How many miles on them? Should I post my email here? I don't have any issues but don't know the protocol. Let me know.

MJ
