Pulse Generator Problems

Post by echinus1988 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 12:56 am

Well, I don't normally get frustrated but I am definitely there.

I had a running motorcycle until I replaced the stator. Now I have no spark so I checked and found the pulse generator was not spinning. So I removed the swing arm but cannot get the pulse generator out even though it says I can. Why you might ask, after all, it says in the book, I can just pull it out. It won't pull out, the enclosure jams on the bar behind it, the advance is hooked to the PG frame.

So I can't replace the pin that is probably broken or do much of anything until I figure out how to remove things and replace that pin! I am totally confused and that doesn't happen usually since I can usually figure things out. I have been working on it quite a while now and am making no progress.

I am open to any suggestions because I am not getting anywhere with this bike right now and can't figure out my next step.

Any suggestions? As usual, I appreciate any help I can get here.

Hi. I had the same problem that the pulse generator would not budge. Sprayed some penertrating lubricant onto the and a little tap with a small hammer. It slid right off.
