Just got it, how do you tell which series..standard ect....? Getting parts may be a challenge so where would I start ?

Parts for any 81 (and for the most part, 80-83) will fit.

If it has a Honda fairing and bags, it's an Interstate. If not, it's a Standard. Aspencades didn't come along until 1982.

Of course, that doesn't mean that someone in the past 30 years hasn't either added or removed fairings and bags to/from your bike. :)

If you turn the bars all the way to the right and look at the steering column on the left there is a Vin plate which give the model type, year, etc. month built
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE
