1983 ASPENCADE RADIO PROBLEM

Postby ALSTCLAIR » Mon Apr 07, 2014 3:27 pm

I HAVE A 1983 ASPENCADE WITH THE CLARION SOUND SYSTEM AND I CANNOT CHANGE THE STATIONS ON IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY ONE CAN GIVE ME A HINT ON HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

Do any of the buttons work? On the handlebar or on the radio itself?

I'm watching as I noticed the same problem tonight... mine seems to be the handle bar switches for station seeking - but I was too busy dodging snow piles and pea gravel to start pushing the radio buttons.
My wife is the greatest - she won't let me sell my bike - I'm less grumpy when I ride...

I can switch it from am to fm and change the volume and tone, but it won't change the stations, and the handle bar switch will mute but will not change stations

call sierra electronics. They still work on these relics. They can tell you what to do.
After talking to them post here what you do to fix it. someone else may learn from you.

I sent my first 82 ASPY too them about 2 years ago and they (SEIRRA ELECTRIC) went through it both the CB/RADIO/ INTERCOM and it only cost me I think if I can remember less then $200.00. Then I went and got STUUUUUUPPPID and lost it too the bank. Anyway enough of that!!! But I have another 82 Aspy and it has a totally different radio but not CB and the Intercom doesn't work. But I am thinking on send the 83 radio out too them this fall and putting it in this 82 that is running ok. So you will not regret letting them fix it for you so y'all can listen too all the SWEET MUSIC.
