fork oil drain Aspencade 1100

Postby dummysales » Sun Apr 13, 2014 1:18 pm

The '83 Aspencade manual says only to drain fork oil out of the drain plug. However, the Aspencade has the anti-dive unit on both forks where I think the drain plug should be. Is there a drain plug that is not labeled on the anti-dive unit drawings? Or, to put it another way, how do I drain the oil out of the Aspencade front forks after I have the air tubes detached? thanks.

Okay, we can skip this one. I found another exploded view that shows the drain plug. the other confusing thing was that when I pulled the right fork drain plug, there was no fluid! I had the forks replaced by a Honda shop. Didn't check their work! Left side drains appropriately. I will get this right.

Happy day.

Well, it turned out that the anti-dive unit on that fork was clogged. Once I got that clean, the old oil came out fine and it was not dry. Thanks for the reply.
