Gas caps

Postby lbman » Thu Apr 17, 2014 11:04 am

Hi all and a good morning..
I have experienced problems with carbs overflowing into motor... last night after replacing starter (due to Hydraulic motor with gas)
i removed gas cap..it was 50 degrees and showers outside and i g=figure there should have been no pressure in tank..well there was..
Is there a fix for caps or can a person get new ones? cap does not look like it comes apart.
LB.

Pressure is normal. The cap has a 1 way valve in it.
Vacuum is not normal.
Even the owners manual says something like"Turn off the fuel when not in use".
I always turned off the fuel after the day of riding .

You can try soaking it in solvent and blowing air at it..some drill a hole in it but that allows gas smell to get out..
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
