On the front of the suspension behind the fairing is a massive weight. What is this weight supposed do. What happens if you take it off. I would think the front end would be more responsive.

The counter weight is there "supposedly" prevent front end wobble in the faired Wings. There is a question if it works or not. The Vetter fairings don't require a weight. I know guys who have installed Honda fairings on their bikes without the weight with no ill effects. The jury is still out as far as I know. Must have been a reason initially or Honda wouldn't have put it there. ???

The only wobble this thing has below 35mph is the Bias ply tires. Once your over 35 the tires tighten up from centrifical force and then the front end becomes stiff. I am going to take it off. I will let you know what happens either way.
Thanks

Search is your friend. This topic has been covered many, many times. Before arbitrarily removing things that Honda put there for a definite purpose, you should have a read through this entire thread: Counter Weight
