Rear Shocks.

Postby tmackillop » Fri May 02, 2014 3:49 pm

Hey folks.

I found out I have a pretty bad leak on my rear GL1100 left shock. If I moved over to a set of after market shocks that weren't the air assist- would it affect the air pressure in the front forks?

I guess I'm asking are the air-ride shocks connected to both front and rear? Or are they separate?

Thanks.

Taylor.

Separate. You have two fill points, one for each end of the bike.
People have been happy with either Progressive 412's (non-air) or 416's (air).

They can be rebuilt if you have the time. It's cheaper than buying new. I didn't have $800!

You must have been looking at the gold plated versions...or something.
The 412's are ~$270/pr, and the 416's are $362/pr @ BikeBandit....and everywhere else, for that matter.

Okay! No I'm not that stupid. This was 6 years ago and that was all that was available! I was quoting progressive brand prices. There were some slightly less.
