progressive rear stock shock upgrades

Post by futhashi » Sat May 17, 2014 12:14 am

Hi,

I phoned Progressive twice and talked to 2 different Customer service reps. Both said I could not buy just the "12 series springs" to add to the existing stock air shocks. they said I would have to buy their dampers as well which would be, all together, $10 cheaper than buying the 412 spring shock already assemnbled but is not an air shock but a mechanical shock, with mechanical adjustments. Yet I have read that others may have done this. Is this possible? and if so, are there any tips, advice, instructions anybody can add to this post on doing this? I am hoping I can just buy the 12 series springs to add to the existing stock air dampers.

Appreciate any comments.

Buy the 412 non air, and don't think so much. Regards, Johnyy

Yes Johnyy, that is exactly what I will have to do, if in fact it is certain that it is not possible to add the 12 series spring to the existing OEM air shock, something I kinda knew without putting much thought into it quite a while ago, not to worry. Just thought I would see if there was anyone here that has done it, and could share some pointers on their installation. That is what this forum is great for, answering quieries, helping.... there was some talk that some had done it.

I got 416s and all that was needed was an adapter for the air.
