1983 gl1100 .....km per tank of fuel

Postby scooter123 » Sat May 31, 2014 9:16 pm

Hi guys and gals......Did some riding today had a full tank of fuel and put around 150 km and my fuel gage is showing just over 1/4 tank.....So when I looked into the tank and see 2 lines...one with a screen and one that goes back to the deeper side of the tank and the fuel is just over the screen!

So with normal driving conditions how many more km will the bike get .........Or what are most guys averaging on a 83 gl1100

thanks

The best I did last summer was 300 km on 15 litres of fuel and one rider.
You should be getting around 225km - 250km on what you used.
In imperial mpg I am averaging around 50 mpg cruising at 120 to 130 kph.

I got 200 MPG on 5 gallons..Suggest you run on "ON" when it starts to sputter turn the petcock to Reserve and see how far you get..then pull the extra gallon can out of your trunk..that you put there to do this test, and get yourself to a gas station. Now you have a fairly accurate mileage idea for your bike and your reserve "tank" and your driving.

It really takes two tests one around town and one on the highway and there will be a big difference. Around town a lot less..or the highway above 80MPH(100KPH) a lot less too.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
