Headlight/Taillight Bar

Postby lslevine39 » Thu Jun 05, 2014 10:45 am

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the site, so here goes my first stupid question: I have just recently purchased a 1983 GL1100 Interstate in great running condition, but the front fairing has seen better days. I would like to remove the fairing and replace the lighting arrangement with a light bar from a standard GL1100 (same for the tail lights). I have been having trouble identifying the parts required for this operation. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Larry

go to a site that sells old parts and look at the parts catalog to see what parts you will need. Get the part number and then google that part number. The light ears and headlight bucket will be your tough parts.

go here

http://www.westernhonda.com/fiche_selec ... veh=132144

and look at the parts needed for headlight, front turn signals, taillight,

you'll need headlight, ears(very hard to find), turn signals and the whole tail light assembly..there aftermarket ears, signals and headlights that will work..

the big weight in front has to go and all the wires have to be dealt with

Thanks for the site info. I found a rear taillight/signal assembly on ebay. I'm not too hung up on original parts, so if I can find an aftermarket headlight with integral signals, I'll probably go for it. As for the wires, that's gonna take some creative work.
