wanna go with a real tank need width measurement

i know folks are using kawi vulcan, Valkyrie, harley and who knows what other tanks

i was gonna spring for a vulcan tank when it struck me that i didn't know the width and want to keep the stock fairing

i'd appreciate any width measurements that anyone may have on any suitable fuel tank tia

Are you talking about putting a "tank" where the false tank is now and removing the existing tank?

That would seriously screw up the centre of balance, and on this heavy of a bike I am not sure that is wise. Further imo it adds nothing to the function or asthetics of the bike.

I have considered adding a tank to where false tank is in order to increase the range of my bike. But Removing the stock tank might be a bad idea.

I would think doing without the stock tank would be bad as well. The stock tank is in a great spot now...what else would you put there? You might want to try to find one of those touring auxiliary tanks those long distance riders use. I've read within the last 5 minutes where people have put an auxiliary tank in their right side saddle bag. Here's a link with some examples of tanks that might be usable:
