Taking a trip, maintenance checklist?

Postby heholdem » Tue Jun 24, 2014 7:38 pm

Hi, I'm going to be taking a 2000-2500 mile trip the first week in July and am getting my maintenance done now.
Here's what I have done:
Pulled apart the rear end, cleaned and lubed using mother Honda moly grease in the splines,
changed the diff fluid,
lubed the shaft
checked the rear brake and lines (lines are new steel braided last spring)
pulled apart the front end and lubed relevant parts
finally got the rewire on the radiator fan switch to a toggle switch done
flushed the cooling system
drained old fork sludge out, new atf in
new high rpm plugs
Seafoam through the gas tank
new fuel filter
Seafoam oil change
checked front brake system (also new steel lines last spring)
checked valve clearances
she runs very well, but might check carb vacuums
tires are in good shape

Is there anything else I might be forgetting, or might be a good pre-trip disaster averter? It's been a good ten years since I have made a trip of this length, most of my local trips are 150-500 miles and are within a towable distance from home. I'm not bringing my whole tool chest with me and would prefer a mechanically uneventful trip.
Thanks

Rubber side down ya'll!

Timing belts.
I can't stress enough. They must be confirmed less than a couple years old and less than 50k miles.
Cheap insurance.

Yup.the charging system.tend to the 3 yellow wires and plug at the regulator module.
Include the 4 wire pulse coil plug to the left of the battery.
Check the battery level.top it off.
If you have time, add a volt meter if it doesn't have one.
Keep us on speed dial.somebody is always online watching.
Take pictures on your trip.We like pictures. :D
