Lower Fork brake caliper attachment piston and boots?

Postby stevenstrack » Sun Jun 29, 2014 12:33 pm

I was wondering if anyone has a part number for the collar piston #17 and boot piston #29 for the left and right case (lower left and right forks) this is the lower attachment point for the brake calipers. Both of mine are pretty shot, I would like to replace if I can get my hands on. I would need two pistons and 4 boots. I can only find a description on the on line manual. 1983 GL1100I. :x

from the anti-dive on your fork I am guessing you have an 83 gl1100.
I just did my calipers in April but my 83 gl1100 has all the same pistons on all my calipers-which is not normal.

I just redid my 83 gl1100 forks. Had the parts and numbers so I thought this might help someone else. I did not touch the trac. on the forks.
I did need the Boot, piston case #29 4 of them as mine were old and crushed.

51442-mc7-003 (4) boot piston case $7.
417184fork and seal kit. (1) $26.99
51414-463-003 (2) $ 22.76 for both Bushing
51415-mb9-781 (2) $28.94 for both Bushing

Hope this helps.

A BiG thanks Wilcoy02! Although the piston is discontinued the boot and cir clip I have the part numbers now
51442-MC7-003 for boots
51445-MC7-003 for the cir clips

My brake pads arrived today so I'm going to see if I can get these parts quick so I can complete my fork overhaul!
