Clutch spring question

Postby robertdawber » Sun Jun 29, 2014 1:01 pm

My bike is sitting in the garage and I am stumped. Would tightening the clutch springs (pressure plate) too much cause there to be total slack (play) in the cable?

No. Well, only if the added spring pressure caused you to break the clutch cable.

Thank you-The plate was good. I will check the cable, but it appears to be moving. How do you judge the when to begin to measure torque when tightening the springs down?
