air ride suspension help

Postby loudloon » Mon Jun 30, 2014 10:29 am

Hi All, I'm new here but being the new owner of an old 1982 Aspencade I'll probably be a regular in no time. Got a quick one that I've been searching for all morning. My boss is starting to circle if you know what I mean. The air ride stuff under the tank cover has a hose with something that looks like a diaphragm that isn't hook up. Its just laying in there. I just would like to know if that's the way its suppose to be or maybe that's the reason I cant get it to work, While I'm at it there's a 2 wire plug coming from around the gas tank fill hole that isn't hooked up either. Any ideas, thanks in advance.

The compressor under the false tank is a rubber-covered thing in more or less the shape of a "T":

The diaphragm thing you're talking about I suspect is this:

That is the air intake for the compressor. The diaphragm contains the air filter. The other end of the tube should not be connected to anything.

My 1100 also had that two-wire connector not connected to anything - however, I don't remember what its original purpose was.
