Postby KHAWK » Sun Jul 20, 2014 2:11 am

If it's not one thing its another
I got the coils swapped out and it's firing on all for now! Thanks for all the help on that. Now the problem is a Bad gas leak from the #3
Carb I am planning on swapping the carbs from mi 80 to mi 81 if they are interchangeable , can anyone tell me if they are interchangeable
any help on this would be helpful.

I have two (2) parts manuals. By the way, you can download them off this site from the "Manuals" link http://goldwingdocs.com/Manuals.asp?type=GL1100
There are also links to Service manuals on that page.

According to the parts manual(s) there is a difference in the part numbers from 1980 to 1981. I haven't ever swapped out carbs from one model year to another, but I believe if you pull a full set off a 1980 year model, it will bolt on a 1981.
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

I have a manual that someone scanned into .PDF format. If you want to send me a PM with your email address, I'll try to send it to you. It may be too large a file to send by email, but I'll try. The manual is in two parts approximately 15-19MB each part.
