Differences between 1100 and 1000 and or 1200

Postby KHAWK » Sat Jul 26, 2014 3:10 am

I have looked all over the Net and every ware else I could dream up I even looked in the public library! This brings me to this series of questions. Are there any notable differences between A 1000 wing service manual and a 1100 wing service manual and or a 1200 Goldwing service manual A friend told me the main differences are in the length of stroke that the 1000 was slightly shorter and the 1200 was a little bit longer and the 1000 has a kick start witch I wish the others had fore dead battery days. Well enough talk any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance Ken

Lots of things..1000 points, 1100 electronic, valve settings, gauges, rectifier/regulators different, wheel sizes, brake calipers, carburetors even 1000's carbs are different year to year, cams year to year on 1000's, 1100 cams all the same, 1200's some years/models had fuel injection.

Some stuff is interchangeable 1000 to 1100's..heads and headers, fuel pumps, carbs but not correct performance, air boxes on 1000's, coils, oil can, front case, cam wheels belts tensioners,

Why do you ask.

I have an electronic copy of a GL1100 service manual. I downloaded it from the internet somewhere... it's fairly large, in two parts. If you PM me your email address, I'll see if my email service will allow me to email you a copy in two emails. I don't want to try to upload it to the site without asking permission first, as it is 38-40MB of file(s).
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.
