Over reving

I have a 1980 1100 when the bike heats up it revs to the point the bike is overheating sorry forgot to add it is when I'm idling

Maybe your carbs are way out of sync? When I was syncing my carbs, I had to adjust idle during the process- because it would rev way up.

i'm not clear on the question other than some overheating issue, i'll assume not something new and coolant is not low,

are the electric fans kicking in?

Stuck slides or cables? vacuum leak?
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

it revs to the point of overheating? sounds like the revs climb on their own? and this then causes overheating?

then dunno how this part ties in?

You might check your choke cable adjustment-a fast idle cam is a part of the choke function....just a guess. .


My exercise bike is a goldwing.
