Place bike on center stand, put transmission in 5th gear and turn the back wheel.

I'd probably pull plugs to have a look at them, but Robb has offered the easiest way to check if the engine is "free" .... no battery or tools required

I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

rear of the engine left side there is a 17mm nut cap take it off inside a 12mm bolt head you need an off set wrench to get in there. only turn it CW it will roate the engine if it's free..plugs out will help make it easier but not necessary.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,

Hi Charlie

I have an 81 gl1100 that sat for 7 years. I'm trying to get in back on the road.

Do you have any serviceable front brake calipers you would like to sell?

I'm having a heck of a time finding them.

thanks

Thanks Charlie

I appreciate your efforts . How ever, I am going Saturday to look at a parts bike. I may not need those parts after all. Let me see what this bike looks like and I will definitely get back to you one way or the other.

Thanks again.

Jim
