A question about seats

Postby gcronk3 » Tue Sep 09, 2014 7:58 pm

On each side of the seat on my 81 there is about an 8 inch flanges with 5 holes on the end nearest to the tank cover in a pyramid shape like this:

0 0
0 0 0

I have no idea what this is since the seat isn't attached and isn't complete.

Thanks so much

Not OEM on the 1100 seats there should be a "tongue" up front that slides under the front brace near the gas filler, and at the rear both sides a bracket with a long slot that allows for three settings so the seat can slide back and forth about 3" the left side 2/4 side has a spring loaded latch and bolt that you have to pull/push to slide the seat the right side has a bolt that has to be loosened to let the seat slide.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
RB

This piece is actually on the frame itself not the seat. I am going to post a picture.

Sounds like it's a mount for an aftermarket backrest of some sort.....doesn't sound like a Markland.....

It's welded right to the upper frame. Here is a picture

It's the attachment bracket for an aftermarket driver's backrest.
