removing front fairing for good. wiring question.

Postby professor squidbeard » Sat Nov 22, 2014 10:01 pm

I suck at wiring. i'm going to remove the front fairing and just put on a headlight and indicators. does anyone know which wires/colors off of the mini connector for the fairing control the blinkers and headlight?

I'm hoping that someone has already done the work for this issue on an 82 aspencade 1100. if not it's going to be a long couple days of tracing wires and hoping i'm right.

Here ya go:
I copied this from another post.I just did this to my second bike a couple of months ago.

Here's the colors for the 9 pin connector:

Light Blue = Right turn
Light Blue/White - Right Marker

Orange = Left Turn
Orange/White = Left Marker

Blue = High Beam
White = Low Beam

Brown/White = Instrument Lighting
Light Green/Black = Accessory
Red = Constant power

(There's a separate Ground wire that goes to the fairing)

These wires can be found in the plastic bucket under the black weight where your new headlight will be.They already have connectors on them that my new turn signals plugged into,depending on what you buy or use they may work for you.
When I did this I just used a dvm to find the wires that performed the functions I was looking for.
