Neutral Light

Postby davefx » Wed Dec 03, 2014 10:10 pm

I have a 1980 Goldwing Interstate. Every time I pull in the clutch the nuteral light comes on and stays on while the lever is engaged. Someone told me its due to some kind of relay under the false tank.
I've had the tank off and found nothing I could say was the part in question.
Can anyone clue me in to what the problem is? Its not a real big deal but is annoying. Thank you in advance, Dave fx

You have a failed diode. A fairly common failure. Have a look at this thread for instructions on replacing it.

Thank you kindly. The photos posted on the thread you mentioned should be very helpful. I was lost without them. As soon as the wheather breaks I'll look for the diode. (Believe it or not, it's actually raining here in sunny Arizona. First time in over 40 days). Thanks again
