Synced my carbs - first attempt

Post by Aussie81Interstate » Sun Jan 04, 2015 2:38 am

Bit the bullet, and decided to sync the carbs on the Goldwing (or try to)

A friend in Victoria (Harry) sent me up some vacuum gauges - so set them up - and made some small videos of before and after. It's hard to tell the differences they were off between carbs 1 & 3 - only a slight adjustment needed, definitely needed adjusting between 2 & 4, then balanced between left and right sides needed a bit.

Overall difference is it has reduced the flat spot off idle - and no longer sounds like a bottle full of marbles. Still needs further fine adjustments - but still too hot today to do a lot.

I also made some further adjustments and it has improved a bit more. Next step I think I will replace the plugs and leads and caps.

Wish it was too hot here  .Not gonna be above freezing for about three days!
Sounds like you're heading in the rite direction.Syncing carbs is not as hard as some people think and can really quiet up a noisy engine.
