Lower fairings -Quick Release Fasteners

Postby Aussie81Interstate » Sat Jan 17, 2015 11:29 pm

Hi guys,

Just checking to see if any of you have used this style of fastener on your GL1100.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Race-Fasteners- ... 2594d50673

Purpose is that I don't have the original fairing fittings, and looking for something that will work in their place. Does anybody think they would not work ? I presume the length would be OK. Meaning to use these for the left and right LOWER fairing panels.

Or if someone can sell me some originals would be even better ? I presume I would just need the collars as the screws would be standard. Hope that request makes sense.

thanks

Charlie

Looks like they would work. Just be sure to place a metal collar in the plastic at the bottom so it does not crack.

I put in some dry wall tape and black pvc glue on the inside of the lower to help keep from cracking.

The top I used metric allen bolts found at ace hardware.
