Finally - legally on the road

Post by Aussie81Interstate » Sun Feb 15, 2015 8:50 pm

I purchased the bike in late November 2014 - received it via Interstate transport in early December, apart from being told it was "Fully Workshop Serviced" (I don't think so)

here is the ad description
"1979 Honda Goldwing 1100 Interstate,,,been of the road last 5 years,,just out of workshop,,serviced,,carbies re jettted and tuned,,new plugs and battery,,new master cyclinder plus callipers re kitted and new pads,,motor runs sweetly"

I had a friend go and have a look at the bike and he took a video and posted it for me - see the link below ... rt=3&o=129

I purchased on this basis - and have done the following since receiving it

Air Filter
Oil filter
Fuel filter
30 amp inline fuse
Gasket Kit
Radiator Cap
Radiator Hoses & Clamps
Glass Fuses
Rear Flange
Timing Belts
Spark Plugs
New Valve cover caps
Oil 4 litres
New Fork Seals
Blue Slip Inspection
Green Slip
Instrument Panel Bulbs
Synched carbs

I think I can safely assume the bike WAS NOT workshop serviced - I don't believe the carbs have been off the bike - let alone rejetted, but it is what it is - I'm still happy I have a reliable bike (fingers crossed).

I am going to remove and rebuild the starter motor as it has the issue of being unable to turn over once the motor gets warm and
you try to restart straight away
