Raising the front end

I'm sure a lot of you guys probably know this but, if you use two car safety stands and place them both under the engine crash bars they will hold the front end up just enough to get the wheel off the floor, a helper can be a great help but I do it myself..later Littlebeaver.... use a helper and be safe.

I've put a 2x6 across the bottom of the engine (to protect it), and then put a normal car jack (trolley jack type, not a bottle jack) under the wood, and lifted the bike up that way. Works great, and it's reasonably stable.
