82 Aspencade exhaust

Post by leanjoe » Thu Jun 17, 2010 12:38 pm

My Aspencade had the left sid eexhaust smashed and a terrible patch job applied. I have a set of Jardine mufflers laying around and want to use them. Does it matter if I keep the cross over or not ? If not ,would I have to re-jet? A lot of guys putting sportster mufflers on,going true dual exhaust, probably ok,huh?

The crossover is used to help evacuate exhaust out of cylinders using the pulse from the opposite side. You might see a slight decrease in power and perhaps an increase in engine temperature, but it won't hurt the bike to run without it. Lots of people have.
