Steering Lock Feature Not Working

Postby sportsfreaked » Sun Mar 15, 2015 7:11 pm

Yes I have another question :o . In regards to the steering lock on my 1981 Interstate. I can't seem to get it to lock. The lock will depress and I can turn it a bit to the left but I can't get it to turn all the way to the lock position. Is there a "trick" to doing this or an easy fix by chance? It's not a huge deal but if it could work I would like it to. Not high on my priority list of things to do but something I would like to get to work in the future. As always thanks for the knowledge!

That's my experience as well. Can I ask why you need it to work? Just curious. I have only used mine once or twice but not for years. I figure nobody will get very far pushing it:)

I don't really need it to work just something that would be nice if it did work. I have tried all the way to the left and right with no avail. It's not a big deal just didn't know if there was a little trick or something to get it to work. Thanks for the replies it's greatly appreciated!

On my 1100, the steering had to be turned ALMOST - but not quite all the way to the left in order for the steering lock to engage.
