advice on selling unwanted parts

Postby alastair.kj » Sat Mar 21, 2015 8:18 pm

Hey folks!

So since I've owned my Wing I have removed the fairing, some engine guards and chrome bits. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on the best ways to sell these things off.
It's a 1981 GL1100I, if anyone is interested.
I've never sold anything online before so I don't really now the best ways to go about it.
Any advice is welcome.

Cheers,
Alastair

Post a picture
Give a detailed description. Note any defects.
Name your price and how you will take payment. Most use Paypal as the buyer has a little protection in regards to getting the item .
Tell your mailing method and how much it will cost.

Wilcoy is correct, but I would use this site and others to advertise what you have, photo's for sure, and photo's from every angle, someone in your area may be looking for a rare item like a Honda fairing, If I was 100 miles from you, I would have my radar and antenna's up for sure :D ....

I think it would be useful also if you would indicate in your adverts whether you are prepared to ship to other parts of the world. If you do decide to do that, then the postage would be dearer. Ebay is the best site I know for shipping internationally and you can join their Worldwide shipping programme which makes things easier.

I have found it useful when actually when buying goods from the States and the seller ids part of the programme/facility. It saves on postage costs.

Paypal is great protection for international sellers and buyers.

Thanks for all the advice. I may already have found a buyer, which is the only reason I haven't already gone and posted pictures on here. If it falls through I'l put up a proper ad.

Cheers

Wow that's really good news. That's saves a lot of hassle. Worth joining ebay and being on their international programme even it's just for the purchases.
