Get a wire and retrieve it.., Use a firm wire to hold the chain back and drop in the sprocket..

That sounds easy enough tackle that tomorrow, if i am correct the chain should wrap around from underneath if that makes sense

How's the sprocket fishing going? :P As far as getting the starter into the sprocket, I've always done it on the sidestand and never had a problem. Seems I do remember reading that some of the Ebay Chinese/Korean starters have a different spline count than OEM and they needed to use the supplied sprocket.

It sounds like you have a bad connection at the plugin above the solenoid, look to see if those wires are burnt or melted.... the fuse may be cracked... do you still have a dogbone type fuse? Check the Reg. rectifier plug too and also the 3 yellow wires... make sure the ground is good to frame...

Hey Beav
Ok i had a solenoid that had no fuse on it like my new one, it has just 2 studs and a cord with 2 wires coming from it green and yellow/red and a added on post to the where the battery red wire goes which had the 2 red and red/white hooked to it so i cant find a fuse anywhere lol.
i soldered the 3 yellow wires today ( but when i peeled back plastic wire very dusty lol but held to together )
the main ground wire i need to check how do you get it off does that bolt go all the was thur frame? the reg/rectifier plug is that the one next to the old 3 wire plug?

Yes all the way thru to the other side,, this is the most commonly over looked problem, the main ground to frame... remove the plates and anything that bolts up and sand them shiney, washers and all.. This way you know your ground is good.. People assume the ground is good but sometimes it's not so good.. How is the plug above? is it burnt up? Put a inline fuse for now from the solenoid to the red and red white wires...I have the holder with the fuse attached...four plugs...

Go through all the fuses... again... Wiggle the key around... I didn't know much about electrical stuff years ago but I learned it..... You can too...Your not getting power to the bike at all right,, no lights no nothing...It's good you have a good ground, rule that out now,, cables are good, right? Unplug the RR Reg. Rectifier and check for burnt wires, then go to the neck of the bike where the ignition wires plug is,, turn the key on and wiggle that plug and see if the lights come on....Don't you dare give up.. Ignition should turn all power on when key is turned on..... do you have a multimeter? to test the volts with...? get so electrical cleaner and spray the spades of the plug in I use q tips and clean them one by one...If you see a burnt one that's probably your problem.. Black wire from RR should be ignition wire...Ram there are too many electrical guys here to help,,, hold on....You will get more help...

Ok with the multimeter you have put the arrow switch on 20volts on the DCV volts... As shown in photo..
Ok now place the black probe to the neg. on the battery and the positive is red. put on the red post and look at the readings,,, should be 12.25 at least....do this first.. What is the reading...? Ok now go to the solenoid (red wire at stud ) and place red on the stud and black to the frame, ...what's the reading there,, the same?

It's 12.28 at the solenoid too? Ok turn the key to the on position, take a screw driver and hold the plastic handle and hot wire the starter solenoid, by doing this it will confirm your starter is good,, the screwdriver needs to touch both posts, the starter post and the battery post... If it cranks you have a problem at the button switch...don't touch the steel while doing this , plastic handle only..Make sure you are in neutral.
