I struck Oil

Postby sportsfreaked » Tue Apr 21, 2015 8:44 pm

Well I had to redo my timing belts because I am a moron. I finally get done and go to start and man it runs like a top until I noticed all the oil coming from the timing hole  . I forgot to put back on the timing sight cover. Lesson learned .

Thanks to all who answer and help. It is greatly appreciated!

To be honest, I don't think I've ever remembered to put the cap back on but once after playing with the timing on the 1000. By the time I'm done fighting the points to get it as close as I can, I'm in a rush to get it all buttoned back up to hear it run and that cap is the last thing on my mind. You'd think I'd have learned by now.

I struck oil too, but for an even dummer reason. It all began when I went to drain the fork oil from the bottom of the tubes....Always make sure you release air pressure, ALL THE AIR PRESSURE. very oily situation.
