Front brake switch '83 interstate

Postby A2Wing » Thu Apr 23, 2015 9:29 pm

Dealer parts list shows part number 35340-MA5-671. Guess what...it don't fit. when I do a google search for images I get real confused. My fear is that a PO switched the entire brake lever assembly with something from a different year and model. Does anyone know if the factory used different parts that year. While searching images, I'm wondering if the part I have is from a GL1000. If I can figure out how, I'll post a pic of the part that I removed. Thanks.

UPDATE Upon closer examination, the parts diagram shows a rectangular fluid reservoir for '79- '83. A '78 GL1000 shows a round reservoir. My '83 has a round reservoir.

That is correct. So yours has definitely been changed.
