no power

Postby speedwaycars260 » Fri May 01, 2015 1:00 am

Just took bike for 400 miles over weekend with no issues except stalling out from bad gas a couple times but was driving home and about to pull into driveway i lost all power. No lights or anything except direct wired items to battery. Battery is good its brand new 400 miles on battery. Its charged and tested GoOd. I have power at battery and at fuse tubes directly after battery. checked fuses and all look good even changed out the ones that just looked old needed replacing. But i stoll have no power when turning key on. Connections at battery are good. Cant seem to find this wishbone everyone talks about. Any ideas dont want to send her to shop as they have a 2 month wait list. All ideas greatly appreciated and a thanks in advance.

Wisebone or dogbone fuse (30amp) is hidden away, it's hard to find... they put it by the solenoid I think  ,,, Look under the or around the starter solenoid, follow the red wire off the battery....There may be a spare in there for ya....I think it looks like a little box,,, I don't know, I remember the silly thing was changed out with a auto type blade fuse because I saw others doing it here and I joined in...I actually used a glass in line fuse before on my Yamaha 1100, yep the fuse clip just up and broke from the vibration one day... It was a painful sight to see me on the side of the road and my wife had to come fetch me....Oh dear,,, but those wishbone fuses are rare anymore, just a thought.....

Figured it out someone previously changed wisebone fuse to a glass fuse and tucked up under seat. So i eended up replacing with a blade type fuse link and rerouted it to battery side cover area. Thanks.
