gas gauge sending unit

done search and cant find how you undo the gas gauge sending unit to take out and clean the how-to shows how to clean but not take off/out i could be wrong isn't that round unit the wires are connected to under the seat 82 Aspencade

Yes,

You need to remove the seat - disconnect the wiring to the sender unit - undo the screws and lift it out.

Clean the ring of all dirt,sand and crud before driving the ring counterclockwise with a blunted screwdriver or drift and a small hammer. A little penetrating oil wouldnt hurt. 8-)
