front signal stays on ?

Postby tomos » Mon May 18, 2015 7:49 pm

Hello again , my bike is almost ready but, there is always something to give me headache !
Here's my problem :
Front right side signal position light stays on all the time .
Left works as it should .
I have installed led's 1157 ,electronic flasher (adjustable rate of blinking ),cleaned up all contacts and it does not shut down- blink as a left one power stays on all the time!!!
Switched bulbs and steel the same.
Help is greatly appreciated .
Regards Zoran

Additional information , right signal blinks with high output light, but low output light remains on all the time !
I hope this will make it to be more understanding .

Replace the blinker. Go to auto parts and get a cheap flasher(5-8 bucks) with the same configuration as what is in your bike.

It is the black part on the left side held in place by the big rubber band.

I may indeed be wrong but as I recall, with the key on,both sides lit up then flashed bright with the turn signal.perhaps that one is ok and the other one is missing the "park" voltage. If the lamp has 3 wires, one ground(green),the brown wire is the park lamp.

Thank you guys ,
Problem solved ! !!
Here it is , I have made mistake while connecting wires under front fork ballast.
There are hot (brown) wire with female connection standing alone and light blue with white stripe and brown ring male connection wire standing alone as well.
So I forgot where that male wire was connected , and by looking wires it seemed to be logical to connect those two wires.Wrong ,hot wire is to be left alone as is and other one is to be connected to double female light blue with white stripe!!
I went through book and noticed that I have made wrong connection .
Signals work properly now.
Kind regards to all,
Zoran

Good catch.Generally Honda never connects different color coded wires together.
Sometimes a colored wire may connect to the same color with a stripe tho.
