gas gauge sending unit or new 7volt regulator ?

Postby ram11397 » Fri May 29, 2015 2:18 pm

Ok cleaned sending unit per "how to "checked wiring it as power at the unit and the gauge. The temp gauge works fine just no fuel gauge shows empty filled twice since cleaning it so new unit or regulator??

If the temp gauge is working fine, it's definitely not the 7 volt regulator. Check the fuel level sender for resistance against ground.

If you hook a meter up to the two leads on the top and move the arm you should see the meter ohms numbers move if not it's broken there is a VERY small wire connecting the wrap to the top of the sending unit easy to break hard to fix..If that's the issue I have several good units $25 plus shipping.. tested before I ship.

HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
RB
