Are factory 1100 top fork springs 1 or 2 piece?

Postby halcombrick » Sat Jun 13, 2015 11:15 pm

Hey guys I just took my fork caps off my 82 so I could change the fork oil and install a cap with an air pressure gauge when I noticed I had only one long stiff spring under the cap. I have read this means its an aftermatket progressive spring and factory springs were 2 piece....is this true? Thanks for the info guys!

I just put Progressives in my 83.....the old springs (which I assume were the originals) were 2 piece

Sorry guys I was confused when I ask about 2 springs...I was thinking they supposed to be 2 in the upper fork from the factory...ive since found out that 2 springs means 1 upper and 1 lower my bad.
