neutral cam install 80 gl 1100

hi had my neutral cam off my engine and now i can not figure out how to get it back in the proper postion so that the indent on cam is neutral there are long pins and one short oin seems like it will only go on in one postion but it is not right any info would be great as i do not have a manul

Is this what you need? This is from a manual for the 1100s. The 80-81 have a switch on the side of the engine with a ball detent, and the 82-83 have a switch inside the front cover. It sound like you mean one of those, but your profile says 1980? More details would be helpful?

thanks for the response and yes it is an 80 i hade the round selector off the front of the shift drum and there are 4 pins on the end 3 long and 1 short one it seems that it will only go on in one postion but the neutral detent is in the wrong place not sure what i am doing wrong i took the engine out of an 80 to put in my 83 and thought i could chang those components and have ny nrutral switch back in my front cover but would not work so now can't figure out how the 80 one gors back tigeather ??

Some of the gurus there know quite a bit about the 1000s and the 1100s.
