Engine missing on cylinder #1

Postby Rokon » Fri Sep 04, 2015 3:26 pm

This bike is driving me insane.

I've done everything I can think of to get this bike to run right.

Start up and let it idle. Check all exhaust temps at the header. All hit 200 plus immediately. #1 sits at 90 and doesn't move. I've checked spark at the wire (via timing light), spark at the plug (visual in low light), compression (140 psi), and rechecked the valves. Changed the plug (the old one was wet with fuel).

What am I missing here? :x

switch plug wires/cap 1 and 2 see if it follows the wire..if not = carb or plug issue. assuming compression is good and valves are set correctly.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,

What your saying is, swap the wire from the left front cylinder, #2, over to cylinder #1? Is this to test the coil or the wire?

Thanks
