1982 GL 1100 rear master cylinder

Postby dmor1019 » Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:22 pm

Sorry to be a bother but I like to stop, in the DIY article here on rebuilding the rear master it says to take a small piece of wire and clean out the return port, should the wire appear some where else if the port is clean once you stick it in? I am cleaning mine and it acts as if it is solid. I am using a very fine wire used to clean oxy/acetylene torch tips. Has anyone else run into this, does this mean my return hole is seriously clogged?

Thanks everyone! :?:

Could you see the end of your needle poking out any where? I can't see where the hole ends at, the 1 hole you can see through the piston area,
just don't want to screw the master cylinder up,

Thanks for the reply! :D

It will poke through into the cylinder bore. If you pull the piston out and look down into the master cylinder bore, you should see the wire poking through down at the bottom of the bore when it is poked into the return port.
