Hello, I"m new. I have a 1980 gl1100i wing with a high speed miss on 4 cyls. goes away on 3 cyls.. pull rt. front wire at idle no change. Pull rt. front wire at high revs miss goes away and is smooth. Need to pick somebody braine. please help. Thanks

I get the impression you bike doesn't run great...
Before I go down the imaginary rabbit hole,I'm gonna mention this.....
Spark,compression,fuel mixture.....
Obviously there correct for some of the engine...now just find out which one is wrong on which cylinder (s)...
You did mention that the missing seems to be related to the right front cylinder....That's #1....
Now the question and pointing...
When you pull the plug wire loose while it's running,is there a really good snapping spark?..Just like the cylinder right behind it.
On the right side,the front cylinder is fired from one coil,the rear cylinder from the second coil.
Have you swapped the spark plug?Did the missing follow the plug?
Has the compression been checked...Less than 5psi difference and above 125psi?
There is also the carb and slide for that cylinder...
See...just like I mentioned...spark,compression,fuel mixture....Checking the spark and compression are the easiest to do first...You do have comparison cylinders to match against.

Thanks for helping. Bike runs very strong under load. idle good, high idle bad, 3-8000 big miss and popping until I pull plug wire then its goes away and smooth. put wire back pop comes back. Havent dug too deep yet. I ask ? first then dig. New to me. thanks
