Place on center stand, remove plugs, place in gear and physically turn the rear wheel. Could push start but it takes a lot of effort. With plugs removed it should turn with ease.

Correct, and it will be easiest if you put it in fifth gear, as that gives you the largest mechanical advantage when rotating the engine using the rear wheel.

You have no idea how long it has been in storage, so once you know the engine turns over, do NOT attempt to start it until the timing belts have been changed.

My wife thinks I complicate things-sorry.
First thing popped in my head was "no title". Second thing was,"I wonder who has it"?.....third thing was "was it craigslist"?
I think I would take a buddy along, and get plenty of paper work (bill of sale showing vin #, some ID, and a signature).....I know....complcated it didn't I...

My exercise bike is a goldwing.
