goldwing fan 1982

1982 goldwing interstate overheats. replaced fan switch and thermostat. fan still wont go on. i can bypass it, run wire off battery and it will work. runs fine and temperature gauge goes to hot, but still wont turn on. any help would be appreciated???

I done know about what is wong but I would put in a toggle and turn it on by hand when it needs to cool

If you are by-passing the fan switch and the fan works then the "new" switch is defective or the wiring from the switch is bad. Take a piece of wire and short across the connector that plugs into the switch. If the fan runs, the switch is defective. If not, then there is a wiring problem.
