valve adjustment question

Postby made2care » Tue Nov 10, 2015 9:07 pm

i just finished a head gasket job, both sides and timing belts of course. I have never adjusted valves and have looked at the "how to" here. please remember I am still a novice at all of this.
I guess my question is since i have all the valve adjuster screws screwed out most of the way, I did that for the head removal and such, how do i determine if my T1 to start is on cylinder 1. The "how to " mentions getting it to top dead center of cylinder 1 to start the process.

when on TDC1 (cam up marks up) you adjust both valves on #1, the exhaust on #3 and the intake on #4 then turn the crank 360 (cam up marks facing down) and adjust both on #2, intake on #3 and exhaust on #4.

Correct?

If I would just read between the lines, the answer is right in front of me. Went back to "how to" instructions and figured it out. # 3 intake will not move if you are on TDC #1 cylinder.
